Following its successful Mini Trade Show in August, the Professional Executive Housekeepers Association (PEHN) recently held its first picnic/barbeque day at Melbourne’s Albert Park Lake as part of International Housekeepers Week celebrations, to honour hardworking housekeeping staff.
More than 40 members and suppliers enjoyed the fun and games on a balmy spring evening just before the weather closed in. Represented organisations included Clarion Suites Gateway, Park Hyatt Hotel, Radison Hotel, Crown Towers Hotel and Bluestone Recruitment. Suppliers included Marie Brereton Uniforms, Mcohn and Associates Linen Supplies, International Interior Images, IKON Cleaning Services and Sleep Tight Services.
PEHN president Marian Stratford was very pleased with the turnout despite the threatening weather and intends to make the picnic an annual event. “This is the first time we’ve organised an event like this and it’s nice to be able to get PEHN members and suppliers together on a social occasion to get to know each other better,” she said.
“It took a lot of planning and hard work to get this event up and running and I’d particularly like to thank Lynabel Carreon of Clarion Suites Gateway, PEHN committee member Karen Bingham and PEHN vice president Margaret Fernandes of Radison Hotel for all their efforts.”
