CleanScene 2012, presented by the NCSA and co-located with The Safety Show Sydney and Sydney Materials Handling, was held at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park 23 to 25 October. Over three days it showcased the latest cleaning equipment and services, alongside a seminar program offering industry-related debates and discussion panels.
Highlights of the seminars included a debate on the real maintenance costs of three different flooring services among specialists Jeremy Naug of Polyflor, Garry Phillips of Slique and Tony Wheelwright of IICRC. There was also a discussion on the rating and measuring of green cleaning standards and the effect on the cleaning industry debated by Bronwyn Capanna from Accord Australia, Bridget Gardner from Fresh Green Clean and Judy Hollingworth from GECA.
Tennant Company’s Orbio 5000-Sc was awarded the NCSA Innovative Product or Service Award at the Innovation Breakfast event held on 23 October. “We are pleased to accept this award that underscores the importance of delivering innovative products for the cleaning industry,” said Andrea Haack, Tennant Australia’s marketing manager. “Our customers and the people who use the facilities they clean are demanding solutions that use fewer potentially harmful chemicals. We believe the Orbio 5000-Sc with Orbio Split Stream technology are important steps to meeting that demand.”
The winners of the best stand awards were announced at the Gala Dinner harbour cruise that took place on Wednesday night, 24 October, with Melbourne-based Central Cleaning Supplies accepting the award for Best Stand on Show and Best Stand over 18 square metres. “We are all very honoured and proud to have won these awards, as we would like to bring something new and innovative to our industry’s needs,” commented CCS general manager Daniel Pisaniello.
The Best stand up to 18 square metres was awarded to Tork SCA Hygiene for its sophisticated green and charcoal stand, topped with a revolving cube.
