Vale Jewel Jones

Jewel Jones lost her courageous battle with cancer on March 9. Jewel was a loving mother, a keen tennis player, an avid Swans' supporter but, most of all, she stood by her man in every sense of the word.

Jewel and David were a team, moving from Melbourne to Sydney in the late 1970s when David worked for Electrolux, running its Sydney office. They then took a decision to begin their own contract cleaning business and, in turn, notably they began their long and valued involvement with the carpet cleaning industry.

David and Jewel were founding members of the National Upholstery & Carpet Cleaners' Association and played a large part in bringing professionalism to the industry by supporting the introduction of training courses certified by the IICRC and, more recently, Certificate II & III Asset Maintenance Competency Standards.

As well as spending time in the family business, Jewel attended numerous exhibitions and conferences, such was her love of the industry.

Our sincere condolences are extended to David and Cindy Jones. Jewel will be greatly missed by all.
