KCP discontinues Australasian GSAs
- Dateline: 08.03.2010
Kimberly-Clark Professional has made a decision to not continue the Australian and New Zealand Golden Service Awards.
“We supported the Golden Service Awards for 10 years in Australia and four years in New Zealand and it was a very worthwhile event. However, like all major corporations - strategies, focus and budgets change which means we’ve made the decision to no longer go ahead with the Golden Service Awards.
“We appreciate the added value the Golden Service Awards have provided all members of the building services industry. The building services market is still very important to us and we will continue to support and work with our key BSC customers on a one-to-one basis,” said a Kimberly-Clark Professional press statement.
Editor’s comment: While KCP’s decision is disappointing, it’s not unexpected in that the company carried all costs associated with the program. However, KCP’s decision does open the door for a unified industry approach by creating truly national awards. INCLEAN would commit to supporting the marketing of national awards for the contracting segment.
