Jani-King Australia achieves top international rankings

Recently released international gross monthly billings for Jani-King Commercial Cleaning has resulted in four Australasian offices being in the top 20 cities worldwide.

Jani-King Australasia commenced franchising in 1995 and has since grown to become the largest franchised area outside of the US. Today, Jani-King has more than 1,100 franchisees across Australia and New Zealand and over 3,000 cleaning clients. The franchisor is based in Dallas, Texas.

Jani-King Australasia’s general manager, Mark Gosling, said the company’s growth and stature in the commercial cleaning market was being recognised and the numbers reflected that.

“Out of the top 20 international regions we had Perth at number eight, Sydney at 11, Melbourne at 13 and Brisbane at 15. Each of those cities had billings which surpassed $600,000 per month and placed us in and around such major US metropolitan areas as Chicago which was number one, Los Angeles/Colton at number six and Phoenix, Arizona, which was seventh and just ahead of Perth,” noted Gosling.

Jani-King Australasia has regional offices across Australia and New Zealand. The franchise celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2009 and was recently voted back into the Top 10 franchises in Entrepreneur Magazines’ influential ‘Franchise 500’ list. The magazine’s January 2010 edition ranked Jani-King number eight among all 500 franchisors, up from the 15th spot in 2009, and retained its place for the 23rd year as the ‘Number One Commercial Cleaning Franchise Company’.

All companies in the Franchise 500 issue are judged by the same criteria, which includes objective and quantifiable measures of a franchise operation, financial strength and stability, growth rate and the size of the system.
