Daniels succeeds Linfoot as BSCAA WA president

At a special general meeting of members held late November, the BSCAA Western Australian Division elected Shannon Daniels as its new president for the 2010 year as well as four board members. Daniels succeeds Lindsay Linfoot, who has spent three successful years in the top position.

The present immediate past president Mark Berry, Jenni Wood, Sally Ann Davis and Allan Brooks all made themselves available for re-election and were elected un-opposed.

The meeting also witnessed the presentation of BSCAA life membership to Mark Berry. During the past some 20 years Berry has been president of the Association for three terms, vice president for four terms and in between time served on the executive committee.

“His involvement in the areas of training, industrial relations, quality assurance and business services has benefited the cleaning industry enormously,” observed executive director Rick Suermondt. “Mark’s efforts, especially in the training area, are recognised not only from within the industry but also by the State Training Board in a report to the Western Australian Government.”

Another award presented went to Ron Doughty for Outstanding Service to the Cleaning Industry. “Nominated for 40 years of service to the industry, he has been Association president three times and has dedicated his working life to maintaining ethical and professional standards, not only within his own business but also the cleaning industry in Western Australia,” Suermondt commented.
