Cottonsoft boosts AFH ambitions with Gracefield Paper NZ acquisition

In a bid to expand its away-from-home market (AFH), Cottonsoft has acquired Gracefield Paper NZ Ltd. The purchase was effective 1 April 2010.

According to a company press release, ‘All 15 Gracefield staff members will be retained with the acquisition as they are pivotal to ensuring customers receive the level of service they are accustomed to. Terry Tree, general manager of Gracefield, will continue to lead the new AFH division at Cottonsoft.’

“We are thrilled to have the exceptional team from Gracefield join us. Their second-to-none customer support has been a key factor in the company’s growth during the last decade,” noted Cameron Neilson, Cottonsoft business to business manager.

Gracefield’s Auckland operation in the coming months will shift to Cottonsoft’s Highbrook retail site. Deliveries from the Wellington and Christchurch locations will continue to operate unchanged.

“Gracefield has been a leader in the AFH market with its specialist product range for many years and this gives Cottonsoft huge growth opportunities,” pointed out Neilson.

It’s said the acquisition will boost Cottonsoft’s value in the AFH market making it a top three supplier to the segment. It is part of an ongoing growth strategy for Cottonsoft in the New Zealand market.

In the consumer division, Cottonsoft is New Zealand’s number two supplier of consumer tissue products including toilet tissue and kitchen towels. Its stable of brands includes Cottonsofts, Kiwisoft and Tuffy Paper Towels.
