Last year we have saw the devastation left by the floods in the Philippines, and other parts of the globe including our very own devastation. In response we set up a charity to receive clothing and items that are left in the hotels by guests, items the hotel does not need any more, i.e. worn sheets and towels, etc that could be useful to people that have lost most of their belongings and were left with just the clothes that they have on their backs.
Last year we have sent a box of charity goods to the Philippines (thanks to Radisson Hotel) as an aide to the flood victims which where homeless and lost everything. I though this is something we could do on an ongoing basis as we cannot just wait for catastrophes, to move us into helping others, so we have decided to set up the PEHN Aide with the support of the committee and members.
To donate to this cause all you need to do is to buy a box $10.00 and fill it up with goods, some of which are left in your hotels items such as: clothing, shoes, sheets, towels, blankets, canned goods soap etc, whatever you deem would be helpful to a person/child/families that are in need and less fortunate than us.
I have partnered with my Alumni in the Philippines (St. Mary’s, formerly Our Lady of Grace Academy) to have these boxes distributed directly to the needy. A committee is set up there to target the groups that would receive the goods.
